[EuRoPe] #7 Rumania - OPI Want to Bite my Neck?

Buon venerdì a tutte!

Happy Friday and Happy Halloween!!
Today the rules of EuRope challenge allow each of us to choose a different country, and because I'm an original gal, I have screamed  «Rumania!» out loud, because in Rumania there's Transylvania, homeland of vampires as we know them after Bram Stocker's most famous novel, Dracula. Did you want to join me? Please don't forget to keep your blessed ash stake and your bulbs of garlic, because a real vampire doesn't sparkle under sunlight. He burns.

31 Day Challenge 2014 #31 Itsy, bitsy spider...

Last day of 31 Day Challenge 2014!
I can't believe myself! I did it!! I would cry, here and now, because I'm tired and proud at the same time. I did it! I made it! Me!
Ok, mates. Let's do it for the last time.
Today I must honor nails I love. One of my first nail art crush was Asami from Nails by Asami. I love her tutorials and her's nail art. I started doing nail art after saw her's Galaxy tutorial. Today, because it's Halloween, I have chosen to replicate one of her cutest nail art, Pepo the Halloween Spider, even if I'm SCARED by spiders.

31 Day Challenge 2014 #30

Hi mates!
Today I've chosen to follow Meliney's tutorial about Halloween Nails inspired by Sailor Suits.
As I said two days ago, I love Japan and I'm an anime fan. I know, we are called otaku, but please don' t use this word because an otaku is a person who lives into his own home only to watch anime, read mangas, collect gashapons, statues etc etc. Her social life is internet-based, and she doesn't have any interest a part or any contact with real life. Being a real otaku isn't a cool stuff, 'cause it's quite a pathology.
So.
I'm an anime fan. And I must say that if I started wear colorful nail polishes twenty years ago (Oh. Jeez!) it's all Sailor Moon's fault.

Bare your pink claws!- Breast Cancer Awareness Month

I did it! Last Sunday I have said I was afraid I could'n made any nail art for Breast Cancer Awareness. I was disappointed, because this is a very big cause to join, something every woman on Earth should stand up and fight against. Even helping sisters touched by the desease. Giving them hope, and joy, and a placeful life, as much as possible.
I know that my manicure shall not cure them, or give them help. But I badly want to be part of this movement. And say, out loud, fuck you, cancer!

31 Day Challenge 2014 #29 Introducing Mazzamurelli

Hi, gals!
Halloween is coming and today the theme of my nail art is related to Supernatural. Because I'm an huge lover of european folklore, I have thought it was a chance to introduce to you something very particular and almost unheard-of: the Mazzamurello.

NPQ Week of Challenge Day 3 - «Could I use your phone?»

I love write stories. Not in english, 'cause my english is quite ridiculous, but doing this manicure I have had a vision. Or something like this. It would be a little bit disturbed and a little bit gore (maybe), but it's Halloween, baby!
If you think I could give you some bonechills, please be my guest.
If this genre of novels (it's a big, big word!!) disturbs you, feel free to ignore me, today.
And if my english shall give you a very big headache.. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. And I hope my future shall not be the same of our main character...

31 Day Challenge 2014 #28 Hanabi

Konnichiwa!

The 31 DC is going to the end and I feel some pressure over my shoulders, and the result is I bite off more that I can chew. I chosen to be inspired by japanese flag, because my generation has grown up watching anime on telly and reading mangas. I have studied japanese for four years before I have thrown in the towel (and afterall, I've met my future husband at our very first japanese lesson). Japan is an interesting country, rich of mythology, folklore, beauty, particular easthetic spleen, unbereable contraddictions and a melodious language.
I hope we shall visit soon these beautiful islands pulled up by Izanagi's spear.

31 Day Challenge 2014 #27 Textured Mondrian

If you could choose an artist, who would it be?, I asked myself when I have read the complete theme list of 31 Day Challenge. I know we are talking about an artwork, but it's presumed that if there's an artwork, there shall be also an artist, right?
Mine is Piet Mondrian.

31 Day Challenge 2014 #26 La vie en rose (Full Pink Quatre-feuilles)

Because October is the month of Breast Cancer Awareness, and because I fear I shall not make a related post, today I'll show you something pink. I hope to share with you a proper BCA nail art, because this is a very important issue, but I can't make any promise. Cross fingers, ok?
A month ago, I wrote this post for a Pattern Wednesday episode. I know you remember it. I told you that I have chosen an accent nail, because the whole pattern could be too massive to wear. I think I was right...

31 Day Challenge 2014 #25 Plaid Nails

Happy Saturday!!
Fall is the best time for a picnic lunch to enjoy the glowing beauty of rusty leaves over the trees and a pure light blue sky. Today is a perfect day for a picnic, and I would do a nice picnic, but we gotta flu. Maybe, next week end? I hope so!
If you go out for a Saturday picnic in the park, don't forget the blanket!

NPQ Weekly Challenge: Dripping Paint

This week I'm glad to join my friends from NPQ for the Weekly Challenge. My nails screaming "Dripping Paint!" all week long. Should I disappoint them?
Of course I don't!

31 Day Challenge 2014 #24 Jonathan Livingstone Seagull flies again

“Don’t believe what your eyes are telling you. All they show is limitation. Look with your understanding. Find out what you already know and you will see the way to fly.”

I have read Bach's novel, Jonathan LivingstonSeagull, ages ago, in my high school days. A dear friend of mine lent it to me, and I liked so much. This novel taught me the importance of the joy in the self improvement. Basically, if you have a gift, whatever it is, why do you throw it away?
I don't know if I have a gift (I don't think so, but it's not important now), but the matter of importance I should deal with is find my own gift. Or, at least, feel the joy  during my so called quest.

[EuRoPe]#6 Portugal: ILNP Masquerade (HEAVY PICS)

It's Friday... again?!
Are you sure?
*Checks on the diary*

Ok, it's Friday.
So, let's start again for our trip through Europe. Today it's time to reach the Portugal, a sunny country in the iberian peninsula. I would visit Portugal in my future, 'cause I don't know anything about his history, I barely can say to you that portuguese is the western language of Romanice language family. Stop. It's a shame, I know...

31 Day Challenge 2014 #23 It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!

The movie I have chosen for today is "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!", from a Peanuts's movies serie. I love Peanuts movies and I think this one could be my favorite ever. Where have I to start quoting?
Maybe from "I got a rock!"?

31 Day Challenge 2014 #22 The Magical Mystery Tour

Inspired by a song, uh?
Ok, guys, here's my pick, Fab Four's Magical Mystery Tour. Because I'm a Beatles fan, because I relly love them and because this LP and this song are something special and very precious to me. I wanted to replicate the bright and vivid colours as we can see on the international cover.
Are you ready?
The Magical Mystery Tour is coming to take you away!

essie Avenue Mantain Swatch and Review

It was love at very first sight with essie Avenue Mantain. It's a crème, it's blue and it's so shiny and bright! I'm so happy that my husband has given it to me as our anniversary present!

31 Day Challenge 2014 #21 The blue turtles

Good Morning, my beautiful ladies!
I had thought the nail art I want to share with you today as a perfect entry for the day , inspired by a song. The song has should be Sting's "The Dream of Blue Turtles", for the 1985 LP. But, because "The Dream of the Blue Turtles" is not a real song, I choose to share today with you this nail art following a curious what if: what if the turtle were blue and not green or brown?
This is my answer.

[BIRTHSTONE CHALLENGE] #10 Opal Deborah ShineTECH #30 + Nfu Oh 53

I'm late, I know, but I completely forgotten that yesterday was the  Birthstone Challenge monday! Could you please forgive me?
I need assistent, maybe beautiful and cool as Brandon Rough is (did have see him in Arrow's third season, do you?!); or, at least, I need a rason to have the help of an assistant...

31 Day Challenge 2014 #20 Icy Poinsettia

I did it!

I did it!!
I'm so happy and proud, today, because I DID IT!
I made a flower water marble!

31 Day Challenge 2014 #19 Greetings from a galaxy far, far away

Do you remember Star Wars opening crawl?
I bet you do! And because mine is very atypical galaxy, I asking myself if this starry and shiny panorama could it be the same that Luke Skywalker and Princess Laila Organa watched from their windows...

31 Day Challenge 2014 #18 Vintage Halfmoon

Happy Saturday!!
Today it's time to share with the halfmoon, a kind of nail art that is not my cup of tea. I like halfmoons, but not on my nails, because I have a square shape, and I think halfmoon fits better over a round one.
So, the post of today shall be very short. Because I didn't took a gazilion of photos, and because it's Saturday. And this means shopping time!!

31 Day Challenge 2014 #17 «See you, space cowgirl...»

I grew up watching western movies (and spaghetti western too) because my father is a big fan of this genre of movies, but in my heart I dreaming about the space. There's no much difference between western epopea and space opera. They are both a romantic version of the lonely knight, traveling searching adventures. If Lancelot travels into Brocelande forest, a cowboy does the same thing through the meadows, and the spaceman through the space.
I think in the open space there's  room for a girl too, don't you agree? Because Han Solo needs a woman. Forget Princess Leia, please!
And if I was a spacegirl (or a space cowgirl or the Han Solo's finacée) I'm pretty sure I would wear something like this mani, a simple french manicure with glitters, but in futuristic colours: grey!

[EuRoPe]#5 Luxembourg - Water marble accent

Friday is always a hard day for me. Maybe goddess Freya doesn't love me so much. I don't know why, exactly, but, alas, today there's another episode of EuRoPe. Four your eyes only. Today we should make something about Luxembourg, a tiny country between France, Germany and Belgium. Let's start!

31 Day Challenge 2014 #16 Wannabe Fishnet

I hate geometry because, in my school days I was totally unable to draw a straight line. My polygons were always crocked, bent, twisted. Every time I drew, even making an easy square.
Today I want to share with you something messy, as usual, but I think (I hope) it shouldn't be so much twisted.

Wednesday, October 15, 2014

31 Day Challenge 2014 #15 Silver Butterflies

I think we shouldn't call "delicate print" what I want to share with you today, but, alas, this is what comes in my mind searching for some clues into my stash. I know, an astonishing linear holo such DV8 cannot be something delicate, but I need to practice with stamping so please turn an eye blind and feel free to loose yourself in the dephts of China Glaze DV8.

31 Day Challenge 2014 #14 Le champ de Coquelicots Rouges

Poppies are probably the happiest flowers in the world. I like spot them into fresh grass of April, because see them means that summer is around the corner (and my birthday too!)!

31 Day Challenge 2014 #13 Cat's Paws on me

We have two cats. Two red, fatty and purry cats. They leave their tracks everywhere. On every shiny surface they pawn meet in our house (glasses, mirrors, tables, windows, doors, desks...), so I have decided to recreate they tracks on my nails, as they have left them on me. And if you are questioning yourself if my cats do it, the answer is yes, they do. Every morning. They place their paws over my nose. I hope they do it to wake me up, and not to kill me...

31 Day Challenge 2014 #12 Déco Stripes

Happy Columbus Day!!!
Sometimes the striping tape is the right answer (or the clever solution, if you please) for our troubles.
But sometimes we couldn't  realize what we have planned to do, because this is a cruel world.
This is one of those case. I would like to create some déco-oriented pattern, with a shiny light green base and a darker shade (a bottle green one).
But it seems to me I was born with two left hands...

31 Day Challenge 2014 #11 Black&Nude Lace

Polka dots. Do you like it? I do, but they are not simply to do as you could believe, because is always possible that your dotting tool fails you while you make them. So, because I really HATE wreck a perfect pattern (polka dots are something I can not do as I want but I demand they shall be perfect), I made some polka dots to create a lace pattern.

Torniamo a noi! Oggi ce ne andiamo in Grecia! Gnothi s'autòn!

TGIF and I can return to italian too! I'm very happy to be able to write some posts in english (ok, I make some spelling mistakes and my english is not correct, but I didn't study english so for me it's quite a miracle put some words together and create a post, even if I do many grammatical errors!), but I'm free as a bird when I post in italian. It's like a breath of fresh air. I knew that the 31 DC was very tough, but I didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition it could be SO hard!
Good grief!
Today it's EuRoPe time, so let's straddle on the back of a donkey and follow me through the dusty and sunny roads of Greece!
Gnothi s'autòn!

31 Day Challenge 2014 #10 Holo Sunset

My favorite time of the day is the sunset, because the whole world turns in glow and golden shades. I love see sunsets from the seashore (seaside sunsets are the one I love, forever and ever and ever), so I wanted replicate a sunset over my nails. An holo sunset, of course.
(If I say sunset one more time, I think I shall look like a jammed LP...)

31 Day Challenge 2014 #9 90's Fluo Roses

Hi my dear ladies!
I love roses from the bottom of my heart as I showed you here, and in an couple of post on my blog. Today it's time to share something colourful, because the theme of the day is Rainbow. I saw this tutorial on temperani's space, and I wanted to replicated it as soon as possible. So, guess what?, I try did it. On my way.

Pupa Lasting Color Velvet Matt Swatch and Review

Hi guys!
Today I want to share with you two new shades from the Pupa Fall/Winter collection Velvet Matt. I found them to my local store in sale (2,90 euros) and I cannot stand. I took three colours and today I'll show you two of them, the black and the gorgeous red wine.

31 Day Challenge 2014 #8 Space V-Gap

Hi there!
Today it's time to share with you something metallic. To be honest, I have something else in my mind (something like a thunderbolt as nailside showed us some years ago), but because I was born with two left hands, I must make something different from what I have in my mind. As usual...

31 Day Challenge 2014 #7 Marvellous Marble

I really love the black and white combo, but I didn't know what to do with them. A tuxedo? Some black polka dots over a withe base? The aswer comes to me after a strong tea (an english breakfast tea, FYI) while I watching my marble floor (and thinking "I must polish it very soon!").

31 Day Challenge 2014 #6 Something Purple...

I told you this morning I have fallen in love at first sight with OPI Do You Have this Color in Stock-Holm?. And because purple is not my cup of tea, I used it as a base in a very simple nail art for the Purple Day @ 31 Day Challenge 2014. Sorry, mates, but I have no ideas about purple.

OPI Do You Have This Color In Stock-Holm? Swatch and Review

Things are changing. Summer turns into the Autumn, September becomes October, I purchased a purple nail polish (and a brown one too)... Yup, you read it. Sure. I did it. When I saw the pr of OPI Fall 2014 - Nordic Collection, I was blinded by this purple crème. Even if I hate purple tones. As I said, things are changing.

31 Day Challenge 2014 #5 Russian Roses (Heavy Pics)

Blue is one of my favorite colours.
I love it. It make me feel so happy and it gives to me a positive attitude that I could living every days of my entire life into blue shades. I'm a Cancer, and my zodiacal sign is related to the water. When I saw blue I do not think to the sky, but to the rivers, the seas and the Oceans. I believe I have been a mermaid once...

31 Day Challenge 2014 #4 Private Francine

Happy Saturday!!
Today is my name-day (or I must say, my Saint's-name?), and here in Italy we are used to pay a drink to our friends. Just pretend I have paied a pair of virtual drink to everyone, ok?
For the daily episode of 31 Day Challenge I made an obvious green pattern, the camouflage.
I don't like wearing camouflage clothes, because since my middle school days it was the pattern loved by that kind of people want to pretend to be strong and tough (and in my humble opinion they are not.) in every moment of their life. After Jean Claude Van Damme movies, many guy starting wear camo t-shirts, camo trousers, camo bandanas (GoOd Lord, why even bandanas?!) even if they go to school or go for a walk in the park.
Sometimes I feel like Auntie May...

And the winner is...

I wasn't sure that someone could be join my contest, one month ago. I'm so happy to see how wrong I was! I want to say thank you to you all, girls, because if today we are waiting for a winner, it's because you. May I first apologise for this few words in english, but I have to blog in italian, because I'm not able to express in no other language how I feel today.  Would you please forgive me.

31 Day Challenge 2014 #3 News from the bee-hive

Since my highschool days, one of my nickname is "bee", because my family name matches perfectly with the main character's name of a  very popular cartoon at that time. It's the saaaaaaaaad story of a pooooooor little bee that make a journey to find his mother and protect her (and the bee-hive too) against the cruel yellow jackets and wasps and...
Rubbish.
Today no one of my friends use that nickname ('cause I think it doesn't suits on me. I don't like bees!), only my best friend (and her's mother too), sometimes, calls me "bee".
It' a sad story, it isn't?

[EuRoPe]#3 Germany: OPI Don't Talk Bach To Me

Guten Tag!

Guten Tag!
Today it's time to pay visit to Germany, home of curry wurst and Oktoberfest (and philology, and fairy tales, and Romanticism, and Expressionism...).

31 Day Challenge 2014 #2 Orange Parasol

Today I want to spend some minutes thinking of the end of summer. Summer is already over, I know, but I love wallow myself thinking of the past. I'm a Cancer, after all.
When I was a child we had a 70's beach umbrella decorated with tiny orange lines over a plae base. It lasted through summers until my teenage years (I was 16 years old or maybe 17 years old when we throw it away into the dump), so I want celebrate it today.

31 Day Challenge 2014 #1 Old Fashioned Charlie Brown

As I said yesterday, I'm starting a new adventure, the 31 Day Challenge. Today it is time to show you something red, so I made a Vintage Charlie Brown's Sweater just for you.

Dancing in September #8 Silvia from Smalto Mania

September is over, and I'm feel a little bit sad because today ends also my Contest. I'm so grateful for how many people
We almost done. As I said yesterday, I can't believe it. Really.
I want to thank you all for joining my contest. Thank you. You made me happy and I can't wait for the next contest!
Yup, sure I shall make another contest, but today is not the right time and the right place to discuss about it. So, stop talking, because it's time to introduce to you my sweet friend Silvia from Smalto Mania.
