[Pattern Wednesday] Christmas Unikko

Today for our weekly Pattern Wednesday we have Unikko on the menu. I thought could be a nice idea draw this lovely pattern using Christams shades, like green and red. Like it was a poinsettia with a poppy shape.

Benvenute ad un altro episodio del Pattern Wednesday. Oggi tocca ad Unikko, un pattern della Marimekko che ho avuto modo di ospitare recentemente sul blog (qui e qui). Visto che Natale è dietro l'angolo, ho pensato fosse una buona idea usare colori più in tono con la stagione, come il verde ed il rosso. Ed il bianco, ovvio. In pratica, ho realizzato dei papaveri pensando ad una poinsettia, ah ah!!

As I've shown you here, I painted my nails with two coats of China Glaze Snow (two coats of Layla 110 for my ring) and drawing the flowers with a dotting tool. I used three shades for the flowers, this time, because the real Unikko style has three shades (one for the petals and two for the center). I added the center and the stalks using a black striper. Don't forget your top coat (mine was Seche Vite* I kindly received from Clarissa Nails as sample) and you're done!

I just changed the flowers's size on my ring finger to make an accent manicure. I hesitated because I don't know wich colour combination I liked the most: red/gold/white or green/white? I chosen to use all these shades, because red and gold is actually a classical duo, but there is not a truly Christmas without a hint of green, don't you agree?

Vi ho già mostrato come realizzare questo disegno sulle vostre unghie (vedi qui); stavolta, però, ho usato un dotter a punta grande per realizzare dei fiori dai petali il più omogenei possibile. Ho steso due mani di China Glaze Snow su tutte le unghie, tranne che sull'anulare, dove ho usato Layla 110 come base. Ho poi creato dei fiori rossi e verdi su tutte le unghie, e bianchi solo sull'anulare. Stavolta ho usato due sfumature per il centro - come Unikko comanda, insomma!- ed ho aggiunto stami e gambi con uno striper nero (in bianco i soli gambi sull'anulare). Non dimenticate di sigillare tutto con il vostro top coat preferito (io ho usato un campioncino di Seche Vite*, gentilmente inviatomi dalla Clarissa Nails come omaggio).

Stavolta ero indecisissima sui colori da usare. Volevo avere delle tonalità più natalizie, ma ero dubbiosa: meglio l'ambo rosso e oro sul bianco, oppure rosso e verde? Poi mi sono detta che non è Natale senza una spruzzata di verde e così ho tagliato la testa al toro con un accent sull'anulare (e dei fiori più grandi). Io spero che la mia idea vi sia piaciuta. È stata una manicure che mi è dispiaciuto togliere, davvero. pazienza. ne rifarò altre (suona come una minaccia...).
